Welcome to the Old Paludians Association 'Wikispaces' website

All guests are welcome to view all pages with no constraints. However, because this is a Wiki website, those guests who choose to register, are also able to add or correct entries - such as the names of those appearing in school photos. Registration is a two-stage process - first you need to join Wikispaces; then you need to join the oldpaludians website. Please see below for guidance on how to register and how to update the pages. If you know of, or have access to, any other school photographs, please pass details to the Webmaster.

To view the available pages, use the navigation menu on the left, or click on the links in the table below. (To switch between various pages without having to download each time, it is helpful to right-click on the link and 'Open in New Tab/Window'.)

Photographs for each school are organised in date order within the following four categories:
• whole school • school classes/forms • school sports teams • other groupings/subjects

How to join Wikispaces

If you are not yet registered with Wikispaces, then you can register by clicking on the 'Join' link in the top-right corner of this page. You will need to choose a username and a password, and to give your email address. Wikispaces will then send you an email to confirm your email address details. Click on the supplied link to confirm receipt of this email - this verifies your email address. You will then be a registered Wikispaces user. However, you will also need to join the OldPaludians website on Wikispaces before you can contribute to it.

How to join the oldpaludians website

First, you must already be a registered Wikispaces user - see the preceding section on joining as a registered user. If you have not already signed-in, click on 'Sign In' at the top-right of this page. Then click on 'Join This Wiki' under the list of actions on the left-hand side. This will send a request to join oldpaludians to one of the webmasters who look after this website. These requests are generally approved fairly quickly, normally within a day or so.

As soon as your request has been approved, you will be able to contribute to the oldpaludians website. You will have all the usual browse facilities that any guest user has, but you are now also permitted to add or correct information on any of the unlocked pages, such as the pages listing the names of people in photographs. Your username will be recorded against any changes you make to oldpaludians website (or to any other Wikispaces websites), but your email address will not be divulged by Wikispaces. The Old Paludians will not divulge any editor's personal details.

How to update an existing webpage

Not every page can be updated - if not, the words 'Edit This Page' will be replaced by 'Page locked'.

In order to add or correct information on a particular page, click on the words 'Edit This Page' at the top of the screen. You can then make changes directly onto the webpage, but remember to save your changes before you sign out. Please note that your changes are identified as coming from your registered username and that all edits remain visible in the audit trail forever. Any inappropriate edits can and will be quickly reverted. Persistent offenders can be removed from Wikispaces.

How to contribute a new photo / webpage

If you have a photo that you wish to see on this website, then please follow this checklist:
  1. Please read our Copyright Policy
  2. Consider the copyright owner and the copyright status of the photograph
  3. If the photograph is still available for posting on our website, please send a scanned image by standard email to: webmaster@oldpaludians.org (do not send via Wikispaces since you can not attach images)
  4. Please include all known details about the photo, e.g. school, year or date, location, photographer, etc.

We will then create a webpage relating to your photograph ready for you to add names. We will also adjust the menus to link to your photograph.

If you wish to add another contribution to our website - not comprising a photograph - then please let the webmasters know using the Wikispaces mail facility.

About the Old Paludians Association photographs

Please note that all information provided to this website is held under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike 2.5 License. However, if any Old Paludian objects to having his or her name on this website then, upon formal request, the person's name will be replaced by "Withheld", as outlined in our Data Protection Policy. Registered users are asked to respect this by not amending any "Withheld" entries. If necessary, any such unwelcome amendments will be reverted.
More photographs will be added as they become available. We will seek to obtain any copyright agreements necessary to display scanned copies of photographs on this website. Please see our Copyright Policy for further information.
The larger the photograph, the longer it will take to download and display, especially where a dial-up internet connection is being used. There is a maximum image size that can be held on this website. This may prove to be too restrictive for some of our large school photographs. In such an event, then a slightly more compact version of the photograph would be held, and other mechanisms would be investigated for making the image accessible at the highest possible resolution.
